Help opening Limewire
 

Hi folks,

I am attempting to open Limewire after downloading and installing it from the internet.

When I double click on the icon on my desktop, it temporarily opens and then dissappears.

I looked at the FAQ on limewire.com and it said to check for spyware and/or reinstall Java.

I have reinstalled Java at this points and I can't seem to figure out if my spyware is interfering ...

any suggestions?

1. What spyware program are you using? All spyware programs allow exceptions. Make exceptions for both Java & LimeWire (LW). Unfortunately some spyware utilities think LW has spyware whereas it doesn't.

I don't think I am using any spyware ... not that I have installed myself. Is there a way of telling which software I might have. I did a search for anything with the word spy in it ... and I didn't have any software.

I have Norton Antivirus running. I did have yahoo and google toolbars at the top of my browser and I think they might have had spyware ... but I have since deleted them .. and Limewire still isn't working.

I'm starting to think that maybe I don't need this software, it's becoming too hard for me to figure out
