But I do not have my installer and there is no reason why it cannot be sent to me. I am not asking for updates or a free version just what I paid for and nothing more. I am sure there is a way to support those who already paid whether or not they re-newed for updates. As far as loosing it goes, I had it bookmarked on Firefox and for some reason all my bookmarks were wiped out, same for a computer, I do not expect it to crash and certain files or programs are not a priority to back up. If it is not a support issue than it should be forwarded to a different department which most places call as after sales service. Or at the very least include a WARNING If you loose it after 6 months Don't bother us

That's like saying "oh I purchased LW Pro 6 years ago & lost my installer. Surely I deserve to get the installer again." No go!

I can assure you software devs such as Micro$oft or Adobe, etc. would not send you another installation disk if you lost it after 12 months. It is up to you to look after what you purchased. And you "did" receive what you purchased.

If you got good speed and excess bandwidth and RAM, then you don't need Pro. Just let it go into UltraPeer mode. Then you get 32 UP connections instead of 5. It's more of a resource hog when doing that but that's just a price you have to pay.

Most of us here see buying Pro as a donation not a cost

And if it was a disk or CD I would not be asking for it would I. It is software, I downloaded. I did not have this problem with my anitvirus, I simply gave them my key number and got it back, simply because I did not get a CD from them, this is the same, I purchased software, if it was hardware I wouldn't need any help from anyone there, I would simply re install it like I did with XP because I have a CD.

If that is your only argument, than it would be best to sell a CD and then you could wash your hands of any problems if the user looses it.....And include the WARNING.

We are not LW.org, we are volunteer helpers on the Gnutella forums which caters for many gnutella programs. So "my" argument is not relevant. But somehow you missed all the points that both Sleepless & I made.

The concept is the same for most software download companies. And your example of your AV program is different because you're still registered there.

Firstly I did buy pro and I do not have it and not of my choice.
2nd if I wish to donate for another 6 months it should be my choice. Telling me to donate to get back software I bought with the understanding it was a 1 time charge is another purchase and not a donation.

Like others b4 me, I do not see why it is made so difficult to get the link for something already purchased. We are not asking for help or support, simply a link so we could start sharing with other once again.

Fine ... get LW Basic & off you go. Righto ...
All corners of discussion have been covered. So now you know. I may have a word with one of the LW people about making the notification more easily understood.

End of discussion. :)

but why should I get basic when I paid for Pro and why is it so difficult to give some one what they bought w/o the updtaes support and what ever was to come with it. It is not like there LW is loosing money by making and shipping CD, it is simply sending a link, which most likely automated with little or no human effort involved.

And if it was a 1 time fee I paid to purchase it, I am sure I would still be able to get back the product I purchased without having to donate again, till I was ready to do so.
