See How to Share Folders (click on link) & hopefully that will solve your problem.

I'd recommend you give the music good id3 tags so they're easier to find. You could also use the Describe function in the LW Library window.

ok but how are limewire users going to be able to download it?

When you add new files to share, the no. of files being shared will increase. This no. can be seen at bottom of window. See sample image below. Once you've added the files/folders to share, they will find it in their searches. Go to your Library window, click on the folder you're sharing & look to the far right columns. You will see Uploads & Hits. Hits represents no. of people who found those files in their searches. Uploads represents no. of uploads or attempted uploads.

Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Sample image: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...1&d=1162908502
If not then you're right to go & sharing won't be a problem.

I forgot to mention, of course you can see them uploading any files in the lower portion of the Monitor window. The Library window however helps to keep a tab on statistics. I often arrange my shared files by either Hits or Uploads to see which were most popular during a given session. To do that, click or double-click on the top of the column so it arranges them in that way. These stats will disappear after you close LW however & are not permanently recorded.

When I suggested adding id3 tags or descriptions to the files, people will be able to find files using those terms also. If you hover your cursor over your shared files these descriptions should show.

Samir Ibrahim December 20th, 2006 02:47 PM

and another thing. how do u put in the descriptions???

Lord of the Rings December 20th, 2006 03:16 PM

LW is not designed to search your own files. I mean fancy downlding from yourself. lol :D

Descriptions? If you hadn't already added mp3 id3 tags, you can do it in LW. Select the file(s) in the Library window & press the Describe button. Then add whichever details you feel necessary. ;)
