Default I keep getting Dutch (Nederlands) installs!!!

I have tried to download the 4.12 version of Limewire from Limewire and from Hippo Downloads, since I have a new hard drive. Even though I choose English every time while setting up, I still keep getting Dutch instructions once the entire installation process finishes. I also tried loading the old version I had on my 2nd hard drive, but no matter what I do, I keep getting Dutch for everything. I have tried deleting every single Limewire folder and file off of my computer, but I still get Dutch every time. What is the problem I'm having?

I have Windows XP Pro. This is really frustrating me! I don't speak Dutch and so I keep deleting or uninstalling the application. I really don't know why this keeps happening. In the past, I remember downloading Limewire, and this happened once, but it never happened again. However, there is some glitch that is causing problem every time. What can I do to fix this?

Wow, that's a bit weird.

Try deleting the LW preferences folder (make sure no version of LW is running), see points 2 & 3 below.
Fixes for LimeWire

If you've used an old version of LW in the past, you could have a preferences folder in the location described in point 2 and/or point 3...so make sure to check both The folder within Application Data's hidden, so you'll have to show hidden files & folders to be able to see it.

Once you've deleted that folder, try reinstalling & see what happens. Use the offline installer (not the recommended one).

Please use the installer from the official site...it's safer.

If that doesn't help, once the installation's finished, try the advice here for changing language within LW

Default Thanks for the Quick Reply, Birdy

I'll let you know how it goes once I restart the computer. I couldn't delete the .limewire preferences folder. In fact, there were a few very stubborn Limewire files that I couldn't remove, not even with a removal (Unlocker) tool that I have for removing them. The tool claims it will remove them upon restart, but I am scanning with Ad-Aware right now, and I've already found more than 100 errors!!! So, I will have to wait until this finishes. This is a bit scary. I've never had such a gargantuan number of errors. And that's just on the old hard drive...

If things won't delete, try deleting in safe mode or try the DelinvFile tool that's mentioned below (I think it's the "ask Leo" link)...that's worked for me before, even when Unlocker wouldn't do it.

Default Thanks again, Birdy, for all your help!

Changing the language within Limewire did the trick, but I wouldn't have known how to do that, if you hadn't taken the time to tell how me. Thanks for your helpfulness and have a happy holiday!!!
