Figured it out

Thanks again, sleepless.

I only download mp3 as a rule and I have been scanning them. So that's cool.

I figured out the connections thing yesterday. It's because I unchecked the "disable ultrapeer capablilties" in Options>Speed. I've checked and unchecked it a few times so that's why I sometimes connect as a leaf and sometimes as an ultrapeer. Is this OK? What's the difference? I don't know why I mucked around with that option since I wasn't quite sure what it meant!!

Thanks.

That's how Limewire is supposed to work. It will only make you an UltraPeer if it's in need of more UltraPeers.

UltraPeers take extra strain of the network by more traffic routed through fast connections and shielding the slower ones. It helps the network, but if you don't wan't to use the extra bandwidth then check the "Dissable...." box.

Dig this thread, answers some very interesting questions, which roastchicken asks so well and sleepless answers so perfectly.
Thanks dudes.

Just for curiosity's sake, question for you roastchicken...why roastchicken? :)

Good question!

Thanks again, sleepless.

And you're welcome, orionstarman, I'm glad you found the thread helpful. LOL - why roastchicken? Good question!! I'm not really sure. I guess it's partly because it's one of my favourite meals, and partly because I couldn't think of anything else!! Not very imaginitive, I know!!

See ya around on the Forums. :)

LOL Fair enough. But I will say it has an appeal to it! :)

See ya there mate.
