just curious,,,how do you find out what speed /size your modem is
i am with NTL with a 2meg line but ime upstairs on a desktop and my dads downstairs on a lap-top through a wireless belkin 54MBps router [I HAVE NO CLUE TO THIS NOOBIE Qs] sorry

Try doing a couple speed tests. It'll give you a pretty good idea of what your upload and download speeds are. Try doing several tests at different times of the day to get an average speed. Also if your dads computer is using the internet at the time you are, the speeds will be slower.
