New member with a question

Hi All,
Since I download almost exclusively music with LimeWire, I was wondering if there was any way to only show MP3 files and filter out the .wma and other file types. I could download a converter program but that's another set of steps - and possible problems - that I would like to avoid if at all possible.

You can add words like wma and other file types to the keyword filter. In LW go to Tools>Options>Filters>Keywords, and add the file extensions you don't want in your search results. You can also add mp3 to the end of your searches, e.g. "Song Title .mp3".

Check out this thread. How to find music. About halfway through the first post it has info on using the keyword filter. It also a lot of good tips for finding music files.

Tried putting wma in the filter block and it didn't work for me. I get things like
"_______ (someone's name) gets pranked" as a wma file as well as a lot of "not associated with" wma files whenever I try to find a song.

Usually I can beat it by stopping the search and using either the song title or the artist again. It's a hassle but I have "outsmarted" Limewire by doing this.

I will try adding .mp3 at the end of my song searches and see if that works.

Thanks for the reply though, pac!
