General questions

Hello
*no one seems to have replied to my previous post, so here it is again - my mian issue is prob i) . Pls help if u know the answer or direct me to someone that can*
i) Limewire, upon computer loading, tells me 'Sorry Limewire was unable to restart old downloads' . Whats up with this? Have i lost these download strings? Ima pretty sure i havent cos Ive looked in the Incomplte folder and they are there
ii) does limewire have a minimal disk space required on hard drive its installed on to run effectively and efficiently? ie 20gig or higher?
iii) is it possible to change were Limewire stores incomplete downloads to a different folder without re-installing limewire ?
iv) How come i can find a file name whilst browsing another persons shared files, yet not find file of same name in vairous search types from limewire main search screen?
v) what is the default folder limewire will create an incomplete folder if one doesnt change it during setup?
vi)the incomplete file folder. If one moves all files from this folder to elsewhere, then decides to move files back,,is it important to include the .bat and .bak files with same group of files? or can one say just pic an incomplete file, and move it back to the Incomplete folder ie does the incomplete file require the .bat and .bak files to be re-recognizred ny limewires main search screen?
vii)how come the peview files dont delete themselves from the incomplete folder onces download is complete?
viii) does having large amounts of files waiting to be downloaded cause instabilty in the limewire programme - is seems to in my case

Regards
Eskai

If you click on one of those incomplete files and click on resume it will resume...
As for all the other questions try using the search function, it works wonders...

You obvously have not come across this issue.
perhaps you dont realise something - when limewire tells you it cannot restart old downloads ALL listing of unfinished downloads are NO LONGER PRESENT IN LIMEWIRE SCREEN THEREFORE-therefore , ur response of 'click resume' seems,,iam not even going to bother saying.
Jeez, can someone who knows what going on, or has expereince with the issue of 'Limewire was unable to restart old downloads' reply and not just give me a snotty 'use the search function' or a a stupid reply of click resume -

Well for your information matey if you go to your incomplete folder in your limewire library you can resume from there...

Didn't you say that you looked in your incomplete folder and they where there... duh :bangh:

eskai March 18th, 2007 06:49 PM

wow, i do beleive we are getting somewhere. like pulling teeth.Could this be love.
Anyways
1..files were not in the Limewire library ( but yet they are on my HDD)
2..There is No option i can see to resume these files from my HDD
3..yes the incomplete strings are on my hdd as i said. They are not, however, listed within the limewire interface, nor the limewire library incomplete files partition.

So i did the following
:- moved all mi incomplete strings elsewhere. Rebooted. Moved strings back in incomplete folder ( including .bak & .dat files ) . Rebooted. The result was - whilst they do not appear within the limewire main interface, they did however appear in the limewire library incomplete files partition, but when one selects 'Resume' one is told 'file ????? is not a valid incomplete folder and cannot be resumed'.
As to my other questions, i guess the word 'limewire forum' is dabateable. 'Forum' being a place where people can come discuss issues, ask questions, receive answers yes?
As compared to a 'Library' where one searches for info/data with little to no assistance

We are just volunteers here and don't always have the time to re-post things that have already been answered...And you have sooooo many questions....

Well if that didn't work they must be gone, Why I have no idea..

eskai March 18th, 2007 07:19 PM

I suggest you volunteer for something else.
When you volunteered,,what ,,pray tell, did you expect?
DId you not think you may have to answer questions that may become repeatative?
Did you not think it may consume some portion of your time
Did you not think you should have a sound understanding of the product and related issues?

I suggest you perhaps consider re-educating yourself following LordoftheRings attitude towards being a volunteer, one who truly deserves the title 'moderator' - if anyone needs help seek him out. if i knew how i would, but a dare not ask another question.
Anyway, Limewire volunteer, I would be overjoyed if i 'owned' a product and my 'volunteers' were the ones responsible for the 'decrease' in my customer base.

eskai,

You owe WW an apology here. She has the position of Moderator for a reason (as do all the Mods here)...she has a good knowledge of LW & a long history of helping people on this forum. Don't be so rude & disrespectful.

Every Mod & helper on this forum will, at some stage, tell posters to use the forum search rather than asking questions that have been answered before. We are all human & sometimes get p*ssed off with answering questions, when a simple search of the forum by the poster could have answered their queries.

Ouch....Im so crushed....:D

eskai March 18th, 2007 08:26 PM

Apoligize ? i think not birdy.
You are asking me to apoligize for what? for expecting a representative of your company ( i say your as u represent it too ) to assist me in 'your' product? To be basically told by a represenative, now 2, that they cannot be bothered replying? just like no one could be 'bothered' to reply to my exact same posting apx 5 days ago? And now one telling me, and i quote 'get p*ssed off with answering questions,'.
I ask again
