LimeWire Connecting

Kay well I'm new here and just got lime wire pro today and i wanted to start using it right away but when it finished loading and everything and i tried to download something it said i was not connected and i looked at the bottom and well it said starting connection.

Even if i leave it for an hour or w/e it still will be like that.

Any help would be vary nice.

It looks like your firewalled. You'll need to configure your firewall to allow LW full access to the internet. Also your modem/router probaly has a firewall in it that'll need configured.

ok well i just got my computer fixed and idono which program is the firewall i dont even think i have one (but i think my router does) well anyways iv looked and looked and looked and could not find anything that would let LW be able to connect to the internet...

I just fixed my computer and it is.

Windows 2000 Pro
40GB HD
200MB Ram
and the programs which the person who fixed my computer put on are
Ad-Aware SE Professional
and
AVG 7.5

You didn't answer all the details of you setup.

What is the make and model of your router and who is your isp(Internet Service Provider)?

Try to find out for sure if you have a software firewall running and the name of it.

AVG and Ad-Aware are compatible with LW and shouldn't cause any problems.
