Can't set it up.

I accidentally deleted Limewire in a major cleanup. I have downloaded it 4 times. Each time I try to set it up, it stops the setup at the enable content filtering. I have checked the enablement and pressed enter. Thats it, nothing after this page in the setup. I've tried it 7 times. I've deleted the setup and program 4 times. Always stops on this page of setup. Any ideas why? It's making me a lunatic. Any help greatly appreciated. Why won't setup continue after this page?

Are you downloading LW using the offline installer?

First of all, download Java. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before you install the new one.
Java SE Downloads

Now delete LW's preferences folder. See point 3 here (also point 2 if you've used much older versions of LW in the past).
Fixes for LimeWire

Last of all, reinstall LW & make sure to use the offline installer (not the recommended one).
LimeWire: The Official Site for the Fastest File Sharing Program on the Planet

If none of that helps, try the 'other' installer here.

My thoughts are ... if you deleted it without uninstalling LW correctly then that may be part of the problem. My suggestions would be 1. Errors due to mistakenly uninstalling LW using Add/Remove control panel - what to try now. Read from here onward!

2. Check all options here Fixes for Limewire & yes I know Birdy suggested some of these before but there are some extra things to consider & do & try. And before you do these ... go to add/remove control panel & remove all versions of Java or jse or jre. Then reinstall Java using only the "Offine" version ... Download Java software from Sun Microsystems
