Default Need Advice--Please. (AVI files)

Once again I need some advice-I would like to download movies and then burn them so that I can play them on my dvd player and watch on our TV-I have downloaded a couple of movies useing the website LimeWire-But the problem is that they will only play on the computer, when I put the Maxell DVD- 4.7gb- disc into my Panasonic dvd player a notice comes up saying that I can`t play that disk on that machine-I have recorded the movie useing avi because just about all the movies on LimeWire have that format I have been doing a lot of research trying to find the best site to use but to be totally honest I do not know a good one from a bad one-It seems like most of the sites want to sell you different software to download,burn,etc.-I do not have a problem buying what ever is needed to download etc.I just do not want to be the person that is getting burned-
I am useing windows xp with a VALO pc and like I said I am trying to play on a Panasonic DVD player and useing drag and drop to burn the discs.

Any advice that you can offer me would really be appreciated.

Sorry I misunderstood I thought you said that you had tried to burn them and watch them on your dvd player already...

The 2 most recommended all in one convertors and burners on the forum are...

Wink burning to dvd

I downloaded the new NERO 7 from nero.com (you choose free update and follow directions.. its a 30 day free trial, then you can buy it online or at a store for about $99) and in the favorites lists of nero there is a "make your own DVD" choice. if you download a movie from limewire (ones that are real movies that are around 700MB) once it it downloaded, you go into the limewire library click on the movie, click explore which will bring up the folder that the movies in, and then you open Nero smartstart that will be on your desktop after you download it from the internet, choose favorites, choose make your own DVD and then drag the movie file from the shared file to the nero program, and then push next, next, next than burn... you don't have to convert anything if you have this new nero 7... oh and don't forget to always make sure your movie is working properly by watching it a little on the comp 1st... lol learned that the hard way. if you need any other info...

Will this work with nero 6 ultra edition, or will I have to upgrade to nero 7?
If I can how?
Thank you in advance

Cheers

No, nero 6 doesn't have the option to "burn your own dvd" ... you can burn with it, but it has a decoder already in it so you can skip that step... you can upgrade through the nero 7 website... but you have to pay for it... or you can download the it free for 30 days or something... from nero.com

Harleytio, Please have a look atAVS Video Tools, Video Converter, Audio Tools, Video Editor, DVD Player, DVD Copy, TV Box.I have the video and audio tools in which both are the best I have found. You can try before you buy and is the most simple out there. You can get every thing listed above cheaper than what Nero costs. Hope this helps.

Devil, Go to Limewire (cross-platform) at the top of this page and that will take you to the forums and sub-forums. Find the one that suits your question or suggestion and start a new thread. Then post.
