how do i delete search history

hi,
How do I delete my search history.
When i go to type in a new search anything from previous searches appears in a drop down below the search box.
Please advise

Tools...options...view

Unselect the 'autocompletion' option :idea:

on version 4.12.11 the clear history button in the drop down menu where it shows previous searches
