just read about the padlock should show in the quality column....i only see it in the orange bar at the top with info....is this correct?...bit green at the moment......:rolleyes_2:

Yes, that's correct. If the padlock symbol shows beside one of your search results, it indicates that it's official communication from LimeWire. It's just a way to combat spam.

The padlock notice you see at the top of your searches is to notify you of a particular search result that contains a virus...
It's a 75.7 KB .exe & shows up as "Urgent LW update - download & install now". If people download that thing they could end up infected. To try to prevent careless people from downloading a dangerous file, the warning banner was added to LW's interface.

The padlock symbol doesn't apply to music or video etc, only to LW updates...

As far as the padlock goes, don't download any Limewire updates unless there is a padlock next to the file. I wouldn't download any updates period.

These forums are just a place where we share tips and help those that have questions or problems. You don't need to communicate with anyone to share files.

The padlock banner is just a reminder. It's on all the newest versions of LW. Click on "More Info" at the end of the banner to learn more.

You don't have to know anyone. Once LW is connected to the internet, just search for the files you want and start d/loading. There are a lot of fake files on the network that cause problems for some people. For more info see:
