shortcuts to LW I share computer with 2 others..LW downloaded....does anyone know how i transfer shortcut icons to others on same comp....have our own log in names...when son logs in..no limewire shortcuts to be seen..:shoot: |
From your desktop go to Start > My Computer > C: > Documents and Settings > (click on the account you want to make the shortcut for) > Desktop. Now right click on an empty spot in that folder, and go to New>Shortcut. Click "Shortcut" and a "Create Shortcut" wizard will come up. Then use it to browse to the file/folder you want to make the shortcut for. Just follow the prompts ;). |
did that could only transfer the LWexe shortcut..does that mean they have to go through the download process too? LW already installed on the computer. |
It might be better to install it on each account. That's how I have it on mine. That way they'll have separate librarys for their own files. I'm not sure how it'd work if you all shared the same program. Just double click the shortcut you made and it'll install LW on their account and LW will make a shortcut to the program during the installation. Then you can delete the shortcut you made. |
had LW installed in the past and since we have our own log ins had seperate libraries anyway..looks like will probably have to install on each account ..so will do as you suggest...just wondered if it was possible to transfer shortcut to thier account and LW open directly from that...seems not as just the exe shortcut gets transferred...tried both.....thanks for your help. |
You'll have to install it on each account. I just tried making a shortcut to the shortcut on my desktop on another account and I still had to go through the setup for LW. You can use the same installer for each person, they'll just have their own account. |
thanks 6 pac.....will do it that way....would have done it for my son but i dont know his log in password.....wots he like!!..i can see all he has anyway as i am administrator....i have a nosey now and then.....keep him in line...lol |
