Cool

I am also having the same problem with mine. I can download any mpg one's that I find and they work ok but when it comes to avi's I can't. I've been to my help section and my computer DOES support avi's.....but I don't think it supports the codec the file uses. Now here's the thing I've downloaded DivX DVD decrypter and XVid but it still continues to not be able to play. DO you have to activate it or something. Also how do you find out what kind of codec a file is using? Really still dumb with computers and I don't know what to do? I've seen LORD OF THE RINGS post on sites with downloadable codecs any idea on which one's I should try? Thks in advance. Peace to you all

The file icons do not display the windows media player symbol as it used to on a older edition of limewire i once had. For some reason no video files which have been downloaded from itunes will play on my windows media player, when they used to! its so annoying. Is there any setting which can be changed to allow video files to be played on media player? Cheers.

To be perfectly honest with you I'm not sure I don't know jack about computers and I only go by what I read. I've never had a computer before this one so I don't know how the "old" versions work but I just tried DL'ing one of each kind and mpg worked. Let me look and if I find something I will post it. By the way what kind of windows do you have and media player?

Wink

ok as far as I know I didn't have to set up anything but I DID have to change planes on my media player. I had to click on Library then you'll see a list of Music Pictures, etc. Click on movies then it should give you a list of your movies. There's another way you can try to do it and that's by going on LW and going to your library and click play on the movie and when you do it automatically turns on your media player and starts the movie. Hope this helps.

First off I would get rid of WMP. It's nothing but trouble. Try VLC media player. It's free and has codecs built in. I don't use it but is highly recommended on this forum. I understand it will play vid & aud. Make it your default player. As far as burning an AVI file goes you will have to convert the avi to dvd. If you want to spend a little money which is well worth it check this out AVS Video Tools, Video Converter, Audio Tools, Video Editor, DVD Player, DVD Copy, TV Box.. It will do just about everything you'll need. I have it and would'nt use anything else. Hope this helps
