Do you have a problem following Forum Rules jashy73. You read them when you first registered here. And they are listed at the top of each section of the forums. As are Sticky threads that you should read before posting. If you want help .. what you think we have ESP or can see your computer set up. Give us a break.

jashy73 May 27th, 2007 12:39 PM

no.. i dont have problem reading the rules. I did and have abide by them?
Was purely asking for help and got a stoopid messege back .
You guys seem a bit uptight?
Great forum! NOT!

Then where is your answer to this? We can't help much if we don't know about your details. As said, we don't have esp. We don't know whether you are using windows or mac or linux, what version LW you are using, what type of modem/router & connection, etc. If you read the forum rules again, you will notice these details are expected to be posted with your post. How are we expected to advise without them.

niecee May 27th, 2007 05:59 PM

Actually, this is a very helpful forum where these knowledgable people are nice enough to answer the same basic questions day after day. I don't know why they are willing to do it, but I for one am glad they do. If you bothered to read the info on the link in the first response, you would see that he just needs some info to be able to help you. If you post it, I'm sure they will still be happy to help you, even though you were not so nice.

There are ways of saying things and being sarcastic isnt a very friendly way really is it.
Not all of us are computer literate and struggle to get by, and when we actually ask for help we dont expect stoopid respones.
I can see what kinda forum this is.. male orintated no doubt..
I have now got rid of lime wire as it want worth the bloody effort.. so thanks for nothing guys.
Keep smiling!!! and try to be nice...

Out of all the moderators on this forum, 6_pac is probably the least likely to be sarcastic. How on earth could you interpret his response to your post as sarcastic? What is wrong with you?

You posted a question about a connection problem, giving no details whatsoever about your computer setup. How are people supposed to help you...are they supposed to guess your details? Crystal ball, maybe? Did you even click on the link that 6_pac provided? If you had read through the post he linked to, you'd have seen that we only ask you to answer whatever questions you can. You didn't even try to answer any. How could anybody help you?

So really...I think you are the one who's given the stoopid response!

"Male orintated" (perhaps you meant oriented/orientated)...LMAO. I'm a woman & I wrote the post (stoopid, no doubt) that 6_pac was linking to.

Try to be nice.

Can you answer a few more of the questions? ;)

What brand and model of router do you have? It should be listed somewhere on there.

What ISP do you have? Your ISP is the company that you pay for your internet.

What version of LW Pro and Java do you have? You can find both of these by opening LW, clicking 'help' and then 'about Limewire'.

Thanks

Dan

my LW and Java are 4.10.9 Pro and 1.5.0_06

sorry, I dont know which company we pay for the internet, this is me mums comp.

and sorry, like i said im not much pf a computer person, what is a router? i might be able to know if its more specific, lol. thanks!

muhctekdano June 2nd, 2007 10:17 PM

You have cable internet, right? If you have a router, it would be used to connect several computers on one network. You should also find out what kind of modem you have. The reason is this: modems and routers can have built in firewalls, and if you can't figure out which ones you have, you can't fix the problem (if there is a problem).

Some ISPs can make it difficult to connect, especially during peak usage hours. If you could find out which ISP you have, that could be useful also.

Are there any boxlike looking things connected to your computer that you don't know what they are?

Cedes June 2nd, 2007 10:23 PM
