Using Chat

G'day,

I'm new to all this and I don't know how to use the chat option. I have noticed that when some other people are downloading stuff from me that the emoticon for chat is displayed but I don't know how to respond, even though I'd like to.

Can somebody help? (please, please, please don't give me anything in Geek! If it's not simple enough for your average Luddite to understand, it's wasted on me

)
