Documents in my Shared folder aren't being shared.

Hi, I'm trying to put my bands' music on Limewire, so people can download it. I've put my MP3's in the shared folder:

C: > Documents and Settings > My User Name > Shared

But whenever I search for my bands' music on other computers, it never comes up.

Example: I'll have two computers bother connected to LW at the sametime. One of the computers will have the mp3's in the shared folder, and i'll search LW with the other computer. But my songs still don't come up!

What gives?

And yes I've enabled the files to be shared by right clicking on them and selecting "share."

Thanks for any help.

It's not always possible to find some files in a search (simply due to the size of the network & which ultrapeers you're connected to).

Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall in front of the blue globe)?

In LW go tools > options > bug reports > view example. Scroll down to 'recieved incoming this session'...is it true or false? If it's false then you can't recieve incoming connections from other computers & chances are that other users can't download from you. In that case, or if you see the firewall icon, please give us your details & we might be able to help a bit more.

No. No brick wall.

Hmmm. I don't see the phrase "recieved incoming session" anywhere. The only thing I even see that is similar is: "ever_accepted_incoming=true"

Have you edited the "tag" on your mp3s to include the band name, album, track #, etc.

Just curious...

Could you post the name of these files, so we can try to search for them?

Not everyone has access to all of the files on the network...you could go into the 'connections' tab and remove the hosts when you can't find your files. New ultrapeers will be generated for you and you can try searching again.

Good Luck :)

Try to direct connect to the computer with the files on it. If you can't connect then chances are it's a firewall issue or your isp is shaping your bandwidth. If you can connect then your files are being shared and you should try to be patient.

After a few searches, I believe I've come up with a match. I searched under all types for 'serein .mp3' and came up with 2 files titled '03 sereine', which match your song number.

The first one connected, went to 1%, and then said 'waiting on busy hosts.'
The second one automatically went to 'waiting in line, position 4'

I'll let you know if I'm successful in downloading either of them.
Tried searching for several other songs in the same way with no luck.

What are your upload settings, i.e. bandwidth and slots? Are you currently downloading?

The files I found have sizes of 5,030 and 5,028 kB. Is this the size of your song?
