HELP! Can't click on anything with LW open!

So, I've had basic LW for awhile now with no problems and one day it started acting funny. I couldn't click on anything. Meaning whatever window/screen it was in, it was stuck there. I wasn't even able to close LW. But if i ctrl+alt+delete, it said LW was running. I closed the task manager without doing anything and I would only be able to close LW after doing such. Im still not able to click on anything in LW.

SO that being that, I uninstalled the basic LW, and decided to get the pro. Well what do you know. The same problem is now present with the pro. So I completely uninstalled the pro. and now just tried to re-install it and now that it was finished downloading it was attempting to set up the setting. Now I can not click on anything and it is stuck in the "LW setup dialog" where it wants me to choose the lanuage I speak. BUT I CAN'T CLICK ON ANYTHING!! Someone please help.

By the way, this problem doesn't happen when LW is closed.

Try using this version of Java. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version (add/remove programs) before you install this one;)

birdy - thanks for the info.

k, i uninstalled and then re-installed the version of java you recommended. i attempted to open LW again and the same thing occured. in frustration I began to hit every key over and over, when i noticed a green highlight jump from button to button when I hit the tab button. I was able to get through the setup dialog by tabbing and using the space bar to click onto whatever I want. now that LW is completely installed. Im at the search page, but again, I can not click on anything. So I'm back to square one. I can't do anything once I'm in LW. Please help!

Did you change your mouse since LW started acting up? Have you tried updating the drivers for your mouse?

Tell us all about your mouse...brand & model, whether it's wired/wireless etc.

I have not changed my mouse. This is the same mouse I've had since day one with this computer. The mouse doesn't act up when LW is closed, but the second LW opens, it's as if it's none existent.

Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer

Wired/ connected through USB

No rolling ball. It has a light sensor for the movement.

Anything else you need?

Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used much older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things.

Have a read of these threads & see if anything helps.

LW Mouse Disabled
mouse buttons not working
Can't click in Limewire

Did you try reinstalling or updating drivers? I don't know much about mouse problems, maybe someone else will be able to help you further.
