cannot get limewire to start after download

I have had limewire for approximately 5 years and this upgrade will not let me open my version. I have lost all of my material due to having to delete my prior version. The lime window opens and that is it. I get nothing else. I have tried to download this over 20 times and I am getting nowhere. Please help. I really like limewire but am thinking about finding another download program.

These are all contained within the sticky Connection problems? Check here first! but possibly some people are getting a bit confused or lost when we direct them to this sticky & ask them to provide their details.

This information can be vitalhttp://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...es/biggrin.gif
For instance, some ISPs are known for blocking p2p/throttling bandwidth, some connection devices are known for being unreliable in certain situations.

So please, help us to help you & provide as much info as you can.
If you're new to LW or new to computers & aren't sure how to answer some questions, or don't know what an ISP or router is - just say so. Nobody's going to yell at you http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...ilies/wink.gif
Even if you can't answer all the questions in one go...don't worry. Do the best you can & we'll take it from there.

Thread merged with this one to avoid confusion. Please don't post about a problem more than once.

Hey UR, You should have all your files saved to your HD. If you had to uninstall Limewire your files are still available. It sounds like a Java problem that is keeping LW from opening.
What upgrade are you refering to. LW or Comp.?
