hey, new user. help me download ***edited***

just joined forum cos basically i'm rubbish at technology

I downloaded limewire a while ago and only used it 4 music. I now want to download edited to conform with the simple rules of this forum but every copy i downloaded doesnt work.
I unzip files but theres no set up inside
i'm a being a total idiot and just downloading the wrong file or doing something else stupid

help
