Searches not showing up

When I type in a name of a song it doesn't show up on the lists. I get something that says "Only search results was a padlock are official LimeWirem communications." And no lists show up. What is my problem?

The orange warning banner with the padlock was added because there's a bogus LW update showing up in search results. It's a 75.7 KB .exe & shows up as "Urgent LimeWire update - download & install now". If people download that thing they could end up infected. To try to prevent people from downloading a dangerous file, the warning banner was added to LW's interface.

The padlock symbol doesn't apply to music, movies etc...just to LW updates

Is your LW properly connected (all green/blue connection bars)?? If LW's connected, try the fixes below.

1. In LW go tools > options > searching > basic & check whether the 'show license warning' box is ticked. If it does, untick it > Apply > ok...see if that makes any difference.

3. Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).

This will change all of your settings within LW's options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things to the way you like them.

i have the same ****ing problem and i just want my money back, i obviously can not get limewire to work for me. i am so ****ing frustrated with this ****!!

There seems to be something wrong with the limewire server because my limewire has started to work again but then there are times when it doesn't work so basically it's been working on and off.
