Help, downloading movie, can't play!!!
 

So I am very new to this, I just got my laptop and I downloaded a movie using limewire, but when I go to play it I get "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file" So how do I fix this problem so I don't waste my time downloading, or what can I do to fix this!

I did a search and tryed and download all the drivers that were recomended, still I can't get this movie to play, any way to open the movie in vlc media player, the default is windows, how do I change that?
