limewire wont even open up!
 

so when i clicked on the limewire icon on my comp, it said that i needed java runtime environment 5.0 or above. i downloaded java runtime environment 6.0 and it still pops up that it needs java to start up. anyone got any tips cause im fixin to punch a hole right through that icon:bangh:

Have you only just installed LW?

Did you use the online installer? The online installation can sometimes have corruption problems;) Try it this way:

First of all, install Java. Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions installed (via Add/Remove Programs) before you install the latest Java.

After Java's installed, install LW. When you click to download the LW installer, cancel the dialog box which pops up...now use the option to download the offline installer.
