after downloading also it doesnt lauches itself

after full downloading wen i try to open the file it directly goes to windows media player n there also it doesnt opens from there it goes to a web page that of course doesnt open then it downloads a mp3 something of that sort n then also it is not able to launch it.plz help wat shuld i do
