connection quality keeps varying

I have recently upgraded from 4.14.10 (due to it turns out the same issue i am now experienceing after upgraDing!) to 4.16.6 but after the 5 green bars come up, it dips to 4 or 3 bars for no apparent reason & then at some point will revert to 5 bars - I presume any downloads are interrupted whilst there are only 4 or 3 bars - any ideas what the problem is please

I am using

1. OS version? XP media centre 2005
2. What firewalls you have? I have one, zone alarm 6.1.744.001

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It says "Your test worked"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? Yes, home network with 4 laptops, 3 xp laptops which are tempermental with LW and a vista one that won't work at all!
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Used LW for years
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? _Yes
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? ROUTER ADMIN SAYS UPNP ENABLED.

It could very well be your ISP causing the Problems. You may call them up and see if they will admit to Throttling Bandwidth. Talk Talk is Fifth on this List.
