volume controll on limewire player
 
i cannot get a volume controll to come up on my limewire player the newest version. while the player is loading it shows but as soon as its fully loaded it disappears!!! i checked and checked options but must be doing something wrong???!!!! can anyone tell an interm pc user how to correct this ?? thanks much mrs monster mike 74:mad2::aweof::(:confused::confused::confused:

Check and make sure you have it set to use the LW player. Open LW and go to Tools>Options>Player, make sure there is a tick beside "Use the LW Player", click "Apply".

If that doesn't work, try deleting your preference folder: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...tml#post183932

here is what i found tell me which one to delete ok?

1) limewire C:\documents and settings\mike\application data file folder

2) limewire.props C:\Documents and Settings\mike\Application Data\limewire 12kb props file

3) version C:\Documents and Settings\mike\Application Data\limewire 1kb xml document

4)simp C:\Documents and Settings\mike\Application Data\limewire 12kb xml document

C:\Documents and Settings\mike\Application Data\Limewire

You have hopped a step too far forward in the directory. Those files are found within the LimeWire (preferences) folder. Delete the above folder. ;)

ok did exactly what it said to do. except get this!! the file wont delete!!!! i have the newest free version as does my son on this very same pc and he has volume controll and i dont on my log in !!!! now what??? sorry to be a pain but i get an error message saying i cant delete or rename or do anything to that file. :mad: kim west

File will not delete if, LW is still running, or else, you don't have admin permissions for that folder or directory.

You could always try setting up a new account on your computer & using LW on there instead or as an experiment to see if it runs ok. :)
