Can't hear the music

I am on a Dell Inspiron laptop (1501). It's running windows vista and I get my internet connection by wifi. I'm using Limewire's basic download. I have managed to download a song but I can't get it to play on my computer so I don't really know if I successfully downloaded the song or not. I've tried the FAQ's and the help section but I apparently don't know what I'm doing. I would appreciate any help you can offer. By the way this is my first ever attempt at downloading music. Thank you.

I haven't received any help yet. I'm beginning to think no one is monitoring this forum.

I sure will. By the way does lime wire slow down your computer.

sandy90713 January 8th, 2009 10:13 AM

not really...at certain times of the day it does, just takes a long time to connect tho

That must have been what happened. I downloaded it and let my daughter use it. She got my laptop completely froze up. She had the program actively open about twelve times at the same time. I thought I would never get it straightened out. I guess it was slow and she thought it wasn't loading so she kept clicking on it.

Sometimes posts just get missed. There aren't many helpers around here right now - we're volunteers who help in our spare time.

Did you use the forum search to look for answers??

Which player are you using? Have you tried different players?

Check the links below. Maybe you downloaded a bad file? The second link has a link to download VLC player - it's free & has codecs installed to play most files. If VLC won't play the file then it's probably junk.

songs appear to be downloaded but wont play
