I download a movie and burn to a DVD but I can not watch it on my DVD connected to my TV. I can only watch it on my computer. What am I doing wrong?
Everytime I insert into the DVD player it says Disc Error. Not available on this disc. I am using DVD+R 4.7 I hope I posted this in the right place. Does the movie I downloaded need to be converted somehow. I used Divx converter and it did not work either, unless I did it wrong.

Could be a few problems.
One is, do you know 'if' your home dvd player is able to play dvd+r disks? Find out. (Some dvd players cannot play dvd R disks. And some older ones only play DVD-R, not DVD+R)When you burned the disk, did you choose video-movie format? If you burnt the video file as a data disk then the dvd player will not recognise the format. One way to find out is open the disk up on your computer & see if it has both VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders inside. However this still will not guarantee it will work but if it does at least suggests the video was mpeg2 formatted correctly. If it does have those TS folders then probably the problem was the actual dvd format burned at. It needs to be officially UDF format but on dvd burning programs this is usually simply called video-dvd format or similar. Using decent brand dvd r disks not made in taiwan or china helps. And do not burn at maximum speed. This is important for video dvd's.

Thank you so much. I will go check out the disk for the info you gave me What spped should I burn at? I am using Memorex DVD+R disks. My DVD player does play DVD+R because a guy at work made one for me on his computer and used the DVD+R and it played. I am sure I used data disk. Will go change that. However, I am able to view the video on my computer. Would that be possible if it were a data disk? You have been so helpful and I am going to use your suggestions now. Thanks again.:0)

Yes because the video would be in a format the computer video player could understand. Either that or ... computer dvd players are not as fussy as home dvd players. I've had computer dvd player play data disks also.

Something new has happened. Ever since I installed the Easy CD and DVD Burning, I recieve numerouse error messages and my wireless internet shuts down every 5-7 minutes so I have to hurry and send this email. I uninstalled the program and it is still doing it. Did I really mess up? Can I fix that? Thanks for any help?

Depends where you obtained it. If it was off the network, sounds like you may have picked up a virus of some kind. I'd suggest doing virus scans, etc.; WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! (click on blue link)
