New java version needed for Limewire???

Getting Started Using LimeWire + WireShare Tips on getting started with LimeWire or WireShare. Also a place to seek help getting started. New java version needed for Limewire???

Why is Limewire Beta 5.011 telling me I have to update to a newer version (1.6 I think) of java? I just bought my MacBook today so I find it odd that the OS version on a brand new MacBook doesn't have the required goods to run any application...

What am I missing???
