downloaded pro on vista but unable to install
 

i just downloaded pro for my mother and i successfully paid and downloaded it. i go to installed it and it prompts me saying it must uninstall the old version. i click ok and a black window appears for about a second (a ms dos window i assume) and then it goes back to a status bar. it then locks up on this status bar. i let it stay on this step for about an hour and no progress is made. i downloaded pro again and still nothing changes. i attempted to uninstall the old version myself through vista and was unsuccessful. it seems vista will not allow me to unistall limewire (old version) so that i can install the new one. my mother is the administrator on the computer and i also have the user resistrictions turned off. im out of ideas as what to do to install this program. can anyone help me?
