Trouble with large DivX ;-) downloads

I am having trouble downloading the full movie (DivX ;-) , .avi). I'm using Gnotella and have 768/128 ADSL connection and monitor the speeds and traffic with Net.Medic. I get about 30-40% of the ~700MB movie and it stops (when my traffic & available bandwidth looks good). I can often go to the same host IP and start from scratch but it wont let me resume the old from where I left off. Does anyone know how to force the resumed download (when it's from the same host IP address) so I dont end up with 10 files of the 1st part of the same films (I pay $12/GB of data xfer also!)or force a new download to start from one of my incompletes (when it is exactly the same size/amount of data of course)?

I would use Bearshare, it works really well for resuming DL's. You can change the temp file name to match a file of the same size with a different name. (be care that it is the same file though, the fill will be corrupt if you resume the wrong file.)
