Connection trouble

I've only begun using Gnotella as of 4 hours ago, and there is one problem:

I cannot connect. I attempt to connect to gnutellahosts.com:6346 and router.limewire.com, but nothing will happen. It will sit in the "Connecting" stage for as long as I have the program open. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. I think it have something to do with the systemparameters, because 2 weeks ago I hade a very good connection. Since this time I try a lot of installations and other things, wich con change any neccessery parameters. So, when anybode can help us, you are welcome.

I, too have the same problem. I've tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling to letting it sit idle for for hours waiting for a connection. Any help for us would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I have a connection now. All I had to do was let it sit idle for 45 minutes or so. Man.

I hope I don't have to do that everytime I connect.

same connection prob...

I got that lame "connecting..." message for quite a while!
Tried gnutella.hostscache.com and it worked right away.

This connection problem is the same with Lime Wire as someone else pointed out (somewhere in these forums).

One thing troubled me: I could make a succesfull download, but I couldn't search for anything new. Well I'm not that good with these kind of programs but...grrr

Don't worry about the update thing, it's just a bug.

0.9.9 is the latest.

One answer to connection problem

Add gnutella.hostscache.com as a host on your connections page.

I picked up this tip from an earlier post and tried it. Connections came up immediately. Just wanted to reinforce this answer that was provided by another member.
