Resuming a file............???

Ok here's the deal. I downloaded about half of a video file on Gnotella. Then i had to close Gnotella, so the file was sent to my temporary folder since it was not done downloading. When i got back on Gnotella, it tried to redownload the file all over again, to my main Gnotella folder. It just leaves the half-downloaded file in my temporary folder. (Gnotella has done this with all the files i've tried to download.) So does anyone know how i can get Gnotella to resume my file that is in my temporary folder, so that it does not just re-download it all over again (i don't really ffeel like waiting 5 hours all over agin). Thanks.

Gnotella has done that to me too a couple of times, but has then suddenly decided to work again, so I don't have a cure.

What you can do though, is to find the same file(the same name and filesize), start downloading that, abort the new download as soon as it starts, go into your incomplete downloads folder, rename the new file so that it's called exactly the same as the old file, and resume the download.

You see, there are some numbers infront of the filename that Gnotella generates, and if you change the name of the new file so that it has the same four digits infront of the filename as the old file has, Gnotella will think it's the same file, and continue to download from where you were, for instance at 50%.

It has to be the same file though(same file size).

If that made any sence....;)
