Element not found

Hiya,

When using .70 it exited several times with an error about not finding an element. The strange thing is that it seems to have to do with my printer, as I got several errors from my printer immediately after gnotella quit. In case you need to know, I'm using a HP Deskjet 720C.
Greetz,

Very strange; I've received the Element Not Found error in previous versions, but never with 0.70. The printing thing is just bizzaar. What specific error did you receive? The only thing I can think of is a conflict in DLLs, or something, although even that is highly unlikely.

I, too, have received this error message twice with 0.7: "Run-time error '35601' - Element not found." (Windows 98 SE, with critical updates)
A DLL conflict wouldn't surprise me, especially since I'm regularly running the Visual Basic development environment. However, the error occurred last night while I was downloading, with no other apps running.
One other note: after acknowledging the error, Gnotella still appeared in my task list and in the taskbar tray, for at least another 1-2 minutes. However, I couldn't open Gnotella by clicking on the tray icon.

Well, personally, I think I figured out the Element Not Found error last night. Hopefully it can be fixed. I'm also running Windows Millennium Edition -- havn't had any problems. I'm sticking to my DLL conflict theory.

I have been getting the Run-time Error "35601" also. I have gotten it on two different machines. W2KP, and my VERY fresh install of Windows ME.

Some more observations, in case they help:

- I get this error even when I'm not searching or downloading.
- The time before the error is variable, but it seems to have been getting shorter and shorter in the last week (down to about 10-15 minutes). I'm wondering whether it's related to the size of the network or the amount of traffic--I mostly use Gnotella during the day.

Good luck on fixing this...

We think we found out what it is, and think it's been fixed for future versions. The problem is with other clients requesting files from you, but we think we've got it. Stay tuned...

P.S. - A minor update is going to be posted on the site in the form of an individual EXE (so you can just replace the one you have) very soon, so watch for that.
