Firewalling

Probably a simple Question but never the less.

Firewalled Servents,

through necessity of all those fantastic script kiddies, I have to run a firewall (nothing Complex but enough to keep the idiots off) and as I need to use SW that only runs on MS 9x I am susceptible, so I run Zonealarm,

Gnotella 1.0.5 has been setup to access it and also to act as a server. Security is set to Medium, so that pings etc are not filtered but ports not in use can go whistle etc.

So if I am allowing requests through 6346, and ZA knows that Gnotella is a server, should I then need to check the Firewalled option.

and would this mean that firewall-firewall connections are not available...

Gone back to Gnotella after brief flirtations with other programs 1.0.5 is definately a step in the right direction.. (esp since I can ditch the skins <G>)

Now all we have to do is get the leeches and those people that think that bandwidth impresses <G>

Well Done Gnotella Crew

As long as ZA has server rights you don't need to have the Firewalled checked.
