Search Parameters

Does the Gnotella search work in the same way as other search engines?

I know no wildcards are allowed, but how about using +word, -word, and "some_phrase" for instance?

No, those aren't supported yet.

Advanced Searches

Hopefully, advanced search parameters get added in the near future. Some things are extremely difficult to find, because of the flood of unwanted results. For example:

I did a search for "Deus Ex" and later "DeusEx"
Both returned massive (400+) results for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart mp3's, but only 1 result for a Deus_Ex_patch110fm and nothing on Deus Ex itself.

I'm still trying to figure out why the results came back nearly identical on the second search.

I agree

I think that advanced search is VERY much a prio 1 from now on ,because i have the same problem, its not very convinient to get 400+ hits when you are looking for a specifik item/file
