I am also a newbie to Gnotella, and I would liek if someone e-mailed me as well about why it will not complete a search. My e-mail is Ripptyd@aol.com. Thanks a bunch!!

Did you connect to a host cache first?

damn there is a problem with the search.... it doesn't seem to work with gnotella at all!

it just sits there forever

Ripptyd July 28th, 2000 07:40 AM

I know! I've tried hooking up just like three hosts, and I've also tried hooking up to many more. They just sit there! Like 10 minutes after you hit the search button it's still sitting there!

This is likely because of network disruption. Give the gNet some time to repair itself first; we've got this mass of ex-Napster users slaughtering the network, it's absolutely horrific to watch :\

Another newbie August 3rd, 2000 08:55 PM

Hi there... i had already used Gnutella (v 0.56) and it worked OK. I read about Gnotella in the Napigator Forum and recently dloaded & installed it on my intel 433 mhz, Winblows 98SE. The prog looks really cool, but I got an error message "ACTIVE X CAnnot create object" when i was trying to add a path to the folder i want to share. I got the same error msg when closing the program.
I'm no comp wizz, so i'd really appreciate any help i could get. I really want to share some 500 hard-to-find progressive rock MP3's i've got...

THX.

got it working now - VERY SWEET!!! - searches are very basic - and finding a QUALIFIED d/l host is pretty difficult - i have however, managed to grab a few 'choice' files - lol

hey Yytrium - if ur running this little venture i applaud you and everyone involved !!
a big THANXS - keep the net FREE!!!
