Ways to Kill Flatplanet Well, here are a few of the things that I've noticed about the SPAMmer Flatplanet and how his software works, so please pass this info around to add to the delete "spam" features... 1) The file name is spelled with a hash character between each of the letters of FlatPlanet. the hash is usually lower case letters, space, or symbol. 2) The return is [spam] - your search string as you typed it. Again, that is [spam][space][dash][space][search string]. 3) Very high speed number. and 4) Type will from time to time have the file search string contained in it, or more spam junk. Time to cut this guy off. |
okay so what do i add to the spam list? - i'm still getting used to using this - pretty sweet tho!! |

Ok heres a question, does the spam block allow regular expressions? Would blocking "f*l*a*t*p*l*a*n*e*t" do any good? -mike |
Well since I'm not the programmer, and just an AC - I don't know. I honestly don't see why not, as the technical details should not be that hard to build around. There was a great artical about Flatplanet over on Slashdot, follow this URL: http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=0...28&mode=nested Where some really good ideas where passed around on ways to end all spam - like junk searches, spam triangluation (these people are passing along SPAM, so drop all packets from them which can not be stealth), etc. Flatplanet life expantance is appearing to be very short. Time to call the Horse Doctor. |
It looks like they're dead: http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=...242228&cid=236 |
