Lightbulb Auto rescan shared folder contents every 15 minutes

I have Gnotella running in the background on a cable modem machine. It is inconvenient to have to manualy refresh the shared file list after adding or removing(!) some of the files in the shared folder.

Please add an option to automaticaly refresh the shared file list every 15 minutes or so.

I strongly disagree!

It isn't that inconvinent to refresh your shared folder when new items are added... i mean how often do you really add new stuff? I strongly doubt every 15 minutes. Why would you want to wait 15 minutes for it to refresh anyway if your already sitting there with your mouse hovering above the refresh button...

If you leave gNet running in the background then why are you worring about refreshing your shared folders.

This auto-refresh idea isn't a good idea... but maybe it could be added as an option in the configuration area for those who want it...

later,
-sir

i think that the re-scan option is much needed... i am so sick of people who share big files, then move them when anyone tries to DL them. that means for the rest of the day or however long they're online, everyone else gets nothing but "not fould" "404" etc.

its one thing to not share files at all, but its even worse if you're filling up everyone's search results with dummy entries.

I think that the auto-rescan is a very BAD idea. It would severly slow everything down and make the network more congested than it already is.

Just think of the massive effects if everyone on the network was periodically rescanning all their files. This would affect packet transfer rates, which in turn would affect the entire network.

Nothing can really be done about those people who move their files, especially if they do it intentionally. If it's a matter of forgetting about them, than maybe a simple timed reminder window is in order, something that pops up and automatically disappears after a short time(15-30min intervals)
