Vs. 0.9.8 - "Keep up # of hosts"- setting

Hi!

How comes that in the connection window the number of displayed hosts is always smaler or equal to half of the number of the entered value - i.e. 2 if I have entered 5, 4 for 8, 5 for 10 and so on? I think it was different in Vs 0.9.7 - not quite sure though, just had it for one evening...

If you find that it always half of what you have entered it means the following:
You are not accepting incoming connections even though you are set to.

This may be because of incorrect setttings or firewall like conditions. Assuming you are firewalled you should uncheck allow incoming (this will make all 10 of 10 connect). When you allow incoming Gnotella reserves space for people to connect to you. This is to make a more stable network where incoming connections are always available to new comers. If you are firewalled you should also have that checked in the configuration/connection window and also check off ignore unreachable peers in the download screen of the config window. If you think you should be able to accept incoming connections, let me know and we can work on that.

Shaun, I just did what you said, thanks!

Having a student account I'm supposed to be using the university's SOCKS-proxy, so I'm tunneling Gnotella through SocksCap. Works fine after I've changed the Listening Port to 8008 - other 8xxx-values also seem to be OK.(BTW: This did NOT work with Bearshare! ToadNode, which is said to include native SOCKS-support, crashed before I could even see a startup screen...)

So, am I getting this right: people still can download from me(somebody already has succeeded in that) unless they are behind a firewall themselves, but I'm no help to those who are just entering the network. Right?
