Idea for speeding up search - Search caching I had a thought, at one time there was a stand alone host cache application avalible to speed up finding host. Basically it let you keep a records of all the hosts to hit your system in last x minutes. My thought was for a search cache. It would be an extension of the gnuetella protocal. Basically it would monitor recent searches on your client and then preform the same search and cache the results. Thay way, in theory, you could have faster searches because someone else already did the hard work for you. You could set the timeout for search results and could selectively disreguard certain searches. (like copyrighted material or ). Just a thought |
