Japanese Windows98

My computer is partitioned into 2 operating systems, Windows98(English) and Windows98(Japanese). I am able to connect/search in the Windows98(English) but unable to connect to any host under Windows98(Japanese) version. Reinstalling does not work either. I used most of my applications in Windows98(Japanese) and have no problem with running Bearshare but i still prefer Gnotella
