Gnotella Still Works, But...
 

...for how long? Maybe It's because I'm used to it, but I really hate to change to something else. And, even though everyone I'm seeing "out there" is using Gnucleus, my Gnotella has run perfectly ever since I upgraded to Windows XP. I seem to be getting the same amount of results from my searches, but I wonder if I'm missing out on getting even more with another program that is actually being updated. Will Gnotella continue to run like this, or will I eventually have to move on?

You wont miss out on much. Gnotella is discontinued, but the network will not be damaged in any way.

Try Shareaza, I loved Gnotella and used it always until Shareaza came out. Not I only use Shareaza. www.shareaza.com or search for shareaza on the gnutella network. It's up to 1.4 release.

looking for the beta 1.2.0!!
 

i still use gnotella v 1.0.5 and it works fine for me!! no connection probs!! i used to have the gnotella Vbeta 1.2.0 i think it was called but had to format my HDD and lost the setup for it!! does anyone know where i can get it again as i think it was definately the best version to date!!
any help would be greatly appreciated!!! :D

I don't believe the Beta Version was any good. I heard it caused too many crashes. Stick with 1.05. Better yet migrate to Shareaza 1.4. It has most of the features of Gnotella and more. I think you'll like it. Search for Shareaza on Gnutella or just go to www.shareaza.com.

You could download v1.2.0 beta (and 1.1.0 beta) from www.gnotella.com/beta, but I believe the site is down. Yes, it caused some crashes, but it had to do with the OS (you had to download the DCOM updates from Microsoft if you used Windows 95 or 98 and it worked perfectly). If you are lucky you can find it on the web or on Gnutella itself.
