Please add Time Shifting feature to Gnucleus

Please add this to Gnucleus, it looks simple to add but will help us a lot!

i doubt any developer will add anything to their client to specificly aid in your warez needs.

i doubt any developer will add this feature becuase it's need is very specific. much easier for you to share differnt dirs.

your thinking if flawed becuase you think that everybody have exactly same mp3 as you do. search for something very common like "metallica" and you'll get a few thousand results, look at most common file, you'll get about 50 hosts with EXACTLY same file, which is very little for this number of hits.
you think hash will help? but consider this. if you change your ID3 tag, file hash will change, even if song is encoded exactly same way.

in conclusion, your idea is stupid. if you afraid to get busted for spreading warez(mp3), don't do it. if you are too lazy to rename dirs, don't share illigal files. i hope developers won't waste time adding your feature request.

have a nice day.:D

all that and he makes a great RIAA lawyer too!
Long live the RIAA!

You can already do what you ask for fairly easily. All you need is a bat file or perl script to swap in different gnuconfig.ini files.

The shared directory settings are found in a section of the file called [share].

You could have 7 different gnuconfig.ini files which each contain different shared directory settings. Then, you could just copy one in and restart gnucleus everyday. If you really wanted, you could automate the whole thing too.

I thnik you are on the right track with this, with feedback like that from the RIAA lover types you must have hit on something
I don't know about you but setting up a DOS style .bat file vs. clicking a setting checkbox in Gnucleus is a no brainer

there's plenty of other "no-brainer" features that I'd like to see in gnucleus a lot more than this idea... features that aren't possible with the existing app. Nobody is arguing that a checkbox isn't preferable to a bat file... all I'm suggesting is that the behavior mentioned above can be performed failry easily right now. If you see it as high importance to make this easier, start coding for gnucleus. ;)

it only becomes important after your ISP cancels your account
and then it becomes even more important after earthlink blocks all file sharing because they are tired of all the letters from the RIAA
so for now, it's not important, please work on other features so I can get my files now, before they shut it all down
