Stopped develpoment... as in the developers couldn't be bothered anymore... I guess ANYONE could be a developer... just fix some bugs and submit to the sourceforge and create a tag release and wollaa everybody's happy. Gnucleus was very light weight.. that's all... and GnucDNA seems very popular now.. with all those DIYP2P, etc... so it's kinda respect to pay some to Gnucleus which started it all.... |
I think it would be great if Gnucleus was worked on again. I did try using it a couple years back. It probably needs updating to happily comply with the changes in the Gnutella network protocol as well. :) swabby (forum name) was the main programmer AFIAK. |
Gnucleus relies on http://www.gnucleus.net/ since that's where it EVOLVES from... (see Help menu). (Isn't Evolve the same as auto-update??!?) Anyway, http://www.gnucleus.net/ is dead. Someone needs to either program Gnucleus to look elsewhere, or someone buy the domain and get our webcache files up there. |
But this worked for you? http://www.gnutellaforums.com/gnucle...-gnucleus.html :) I'll see if I can contact the support programmer/mod. He has not been to the forums for a couple years. |
in versions 1.x.x.x the ini & cache files are stored in same folder as Gnucleus.exe. In versions 2.x.x.x the ini & cache files are stored in a sub-folder called Data. |
Thanks, that worked for me too. |
