gnucleus behind firewall Here's my network layout: Internet <-- > Linux Box <--> Windows Box The linux box is doing NAT for the internal network. The windows box is running gnucleus. Here is my question: How do people on the internet connect to my gnucleus (to download my files) with this sort of setup? Presumably, my external IP gets put in a GWebCache somewhere, then someone polls my external IP at port 6347 (or whatever gnucleus runs on). However, my linux box will reject the connection because it isn't running a daemon on the proper port. Thus, no-one will be able to connect to my gnucleus. Is this right? What am I missing? I want to be sure that people can access my files. Kurt |
firewalling gnutella on the linux box, change the nat editor; forward a port 6346 on the external interface, to port 6346 on your windows box, this will allow internet hosts to pinhole through the nat to your windows gnutella server |
