I just got the latest version of gnuke and,...

... it wont connect? I checked out the FAQs and got some other addresses to try and connect to but still wont do it. I have XPHome and I shut down the XP firewall. I got the version 2.0.2.x. I dont know exactly off the top of my head. I let gnuke sit for a while and wouldnt connect at all. I think I read somewhere in here the the new version of gnuke is using a old cache of IPs that probably dont work anymore so could that be why? I dont know. What else do you guyz want to know?

get the latest build here gnucleus.com/betagnuc/index.php

bonne chance

I have version 2020, isnt that the lastest build? I went to the page you you posted and at the bottom were what I thought to be beta builds, isnt that right? I followed the link, gnuke projects, because the site said I could find the latest stable builds there and thats where I got 2020. Is 2020 the latest stable build? If so what now? I cant connect. I have my XPHome firewall disabled. I can obvisously connect to the net. I get no error messages or have no other problems with gnuke whatsoever.

Also,... when I close gnuke it doesnt fully shutdown. The icon in the tray closes out but the process is still running.

Use the beta, the sourceforge version is outdated.

tribaloverkill November 11th, 2004 05:37 PM

I have 2021, isnt that the beta version?!?!? How is that outdated?

tribaloverkill November 11th, 2004 06:04 PM

My gnuke just evolved by itself to version 2030. I got one connection and held it for like 3 minutes and then it disconnected. Now it wont connect again. Does anyone have a list of dedicated IPs to connect too?

tribaloverkill November 11th, 2004 08:18 PM

Hello? Anyone there? Please help me:(

et voilą November 11th, 2004 08:29 PM

AFAIK, there is no 2.0.3.0 Gnucleus... Are you firewalled or behind router? Are you connecting at home, college, work? Can you connect using Limewire?

Ciao

tribaloverkill November 11th, 2004 09:24 PM

There is to a 2.0.3.0, my gnucleus evolved to it or updated itself just the other day. I have my XP firewall shutdown right now and I am behind a router. It's the linksys 4 port router. Is that whats keeping me from connecting? I am connecting from home. I havent installed limewire. I dont want that spyware crap anywhere near my harddrives.

et voilą November 12th, 2004 04:27 AM

lol limewire doesn't have spywares since 3.9.x betas... You'll have to do port forwarding on your router on port 6346 to your computer lan address. www.portforward.com If you can't connect with LW, you won't be able with Gnucleus. Do you have installed WinXP SP2?

tribaloverkill November 12th, 2004 07:33 AM

I have SP2 for XP. I figured that I would have to have 6346 forwarded once you mentioned the router. I forgot about the router seeing that my puter is actually at my gurlfriends house. Her brother manages the router. Now I have to explain to him what I need done. He wont let me touch his computer for some strange reason so I hope he gets it right. Limewire doesnt have spyware? Maybe I'm thinking of bearshare. I can get websites to load in the browser window but it takes a while for them to load. I'm willing to bet that the reason it takes the sites so long to load is the reason why my connections are timingout.
