Dial up problems

I'm on an unmetered isp with a 2 hour cut off. this means I get cut off while I'm downloading a file using Gnucleus, this is fine because I have the auto reconnect box checked and as soon as I get disconnected it will automatically redial.

Unfortunately when I get disconnected Gnucleus starts hundreds of dialup boxes one after the other really fast and eventually crashes.

Is there any solution to this?

Is it a bug in Gnucleus?

or a windows problem.

Swabby would know for sure

Well it sounds like a bug (timeout error or no 1 instance of DUN cap)

You can work around this

When netzero kicks you have another app do the re-dial - I have GetRight do it (doesn't have to be actually D/L'ing a file either, only needs one queued for V. 2.0)

I also have V-SOCKS do re-dial (actually auto-dial) on demand.

When something hits VSOCKS (say Gnucleus SOCKS'ified under SOCKSCap for example) it will engage dialup for me (even from a different machine)

I've found Gnucleus does a great job of resuming once the dialup is re-established (contrasted to the original Gnutella which doesn't do too well)

I never had Gnucleus try to auto-reconnect though - either I do it myself or have another app do it..

Partially because it's not running on the machine that does it (gateway)

But I'll test that feature myself tonight and post what happens..

Sigh, Unfortunately when I get disconnected Gnucleus starts about a dozen of dialup boxes one after the other really fast and eventually crashes also. and it's been like this since i 1st tried Gnucleus, or any clone, going back 8 months. :*(

no, thats not it, gnucleus pulls up a DUN box for every host it tries to connect to.
It doesn't happen if starting gnucleus offline, it connects to the net fine, just if disconnected while running does it do this. I thinks it must be the "no 1 instance of DUN cap" mentioned before, now what do i do?
