never downloads songs
 

Gnucleus seems to function except that it NEVER actually downloads any songs. It is version 1.6.3 running on W2k w/sp2 on a broadband connection and seems to connect to gnutella ok. It also finds many copies of any song that is searched for. However attempts to download a song meets with one of two possible reactions. The first , which is plain enough, it fails to connect to the machine which actually has the song. The 2nd and most common response is that it continually retries. I have left it retrying in excess of 24hrs and still didn't download any songs. I did notice it uploading a song. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I too am running Gnucleus 1.6.3 on Win2000 w/ sp2, however my connection is a 56k dial-up. I have noticed a similar abnormality, but i have found that leaving a search for that particular song running in the background actually helps. For example, i am searching for 'a song', well i just minimize the search windows for 'a song' after i have double clicked to download a copy of it. After a few times of clicking on 're-search' it seems to find a host, and then 2, and then 3, and after that point its sorta a snowball effect. I hope this suggestion works for you.
